Hourly to salary calculator: $X an hour is how much a year?

Full-time hours (40 a week, 52 weeks) turn an hourly wage into a yearly salary by multiplying by 2,080. So $20 an hour is $41,600 a year, $3,467 a month and $1,600 per bi-weekly paycheck before taxes; after federal tax and FICA in a no-income-tax state it is about $35,606. Frequently asked

How do I convert an hourly wage to a salary?

Multiply the hourly rate by the hours you work a week, then by 52. Full time is usually 40 × 52 = 2,080 hours, so hourly × 2,080 = yearly. Divide the yearly figure by 12 for monthly, 26 for bi-weekly or 52 for weekly.

Does the table include overtime?

No — it assumes exactly 40 hours. Use the calculator's overtime fields (hours per week and multiplier, usually 1.5×) to add it.
