Common hourly wages
Frequently asked
How is overtime taxed?
The same as regular wages — there is no separate overtime tax rate. A big overtime week may be withheld at a higher rate because the employer annualises that week, but the tax actually owed is on the year's total.
How many hours is full time?
40 hours a week is the standard used here (2,080 a year). Change the hours field for part-time or 37.5-hour schedules.
Does the calculator include tips?
Add tips to the hourly wage or use the bonus field for a one-off amount; the federal tip deduction for 2025–2028 is not modelled.
