Bank statement to CSV / Excel converter (free, in your browser)
Turn a PDF or text bank statement into a clean spreadsheet: date, description, amount, debit/credit. Nothing is uploaded — the PDF is read by your browser and the CSV is built on your device, which is the only sensible way to handle a bank statement. Free, any number of statements.
Everything happens in your browser: the files are read locally and nothing is uploaded to paysums or anyone else. Close the tab and it is gone.
Notes on PDF statements
- Statements from the big US banks and most credit unions convert cleanly; scanned images (no selectable text) do not — use the bank's CSV export instead, every online-banking site has one.
- Amounts in parentheses or marked DR are treated as debits; CR as credits.
- Open the CSV in Excel, Google Sheets or Numbers; the fourth column marks debit/credit so a pivot table gives monthly totals in seconds.
Frequently asked
Is it really free and private?
Yes and yes. The conversion runs in your browser with the pdf.js library; the only network requests are for the page itself.
Why did some rows not convert?
Multi-line descriptions and statements without a date on every line confuse the parser; paste the text of the missing section, or use CSV from the bank.
Does it work for UK or Indian statements?
Dates in dd/mm/yyyy are recognised; currency symbols are stripped. The description and amount columns are what matter.
