UK payslip generator (2026/27): PAYE and National Insurance computed, not typed
Enter the employer, employee, period and gross pay; income tax, NI, student loan and pension are computed by the same engine as our UK take-home pay calculator from the 2026/27 HMRC rates and the tax code — so the payslip adds up the way HMRC's does. For company directors paying themselves, small employers without payroll software, and employees replacing a lost payslip. Preview free, clean PDF $5.99.

What this generator will and won't do
- Computes, never copies, the taxes. Every tax line comes from the current tables (see the methodology and change log); there is no box to type a tax amount into.
- Says who made it. Each document carries a “prepared by the employee/contractor with paysums.com — not an employer record” line, the date and a document ID, so whoever reads it knows exactly what it is. An honest statement is a believable one.
- Is not for misrepresenting income. Creating a document to overstate income or invent employment to obtain housing, credit, a vehicle or benefits is fraud. Keys used that way are revoked and we cooperate with fraud investigations.
When a self-generated statement is accepted
Alongside primary evidence — bank statements showing the deposits, tax returns, a P60 or P45, or a signed letter from the payer. It fills the gap when the payer issues nothing (cash-paid or very small employers, contractors paid by invoice) or the original was lost. Use it as the clean summary on top of the raw evidence, not instead of it.
Frequently asked
Is a generated payslip legal in the UK?
Employers are legally required to give payslips (Employment Rights Act 1996 s.8); a payslip that truthfully records real pay and correctly computed deductions is fine, and small employers often produce them this way. Using one to misstate income for a mortgage, rental or benefit claim is fraud.
Does it match my employer's payslip exactly?
Usually to the pound. HMRC PAYE is cumulative, so an employer's month-by-month figures can move a little if pay changed during the year; this slip spreads the annual liability evenly across periods and says so.
Can it do Scottish rates and student loans?
Yes — Scottish bands and all student loan plans (1, 2, 4, 5, postgraduate) are computed.
