Data for journalists and bloggers: take-home pay, housing and rent, computed and free to use

paysums computes taxes from the official 2026 tables for all 50 states and seven countries, and publishes the results as open data (CC BY 4.0). Below are the stories the numbers tell right now, each with the ranking page, the CSV, a citation line and an embeddable table. Use them with a link to the page; ask us for a custom cut — a specific salary, city or family situation — and we will run it the same day.

Frequently asked

Can we embed a calculator instead of a table?

Yes — two lines of HTML from the widgets page; white-label is available for publishers.

How current are the numbers?

Tax tables are the 2026 official tables and are checked weekly; mortgage rates refresh weekly (Freddie Mac), exchange rates weekly (ECB), HUD rents yearly, Census home values yearly. The change log lists every update with its source.
